Wahid Iqbal belonged to the land of brave and sturdy pathans. He was born on 4 February, 1974 at village Baldara, Tehsil Dargai, District Mardan in North West Frontier Province. He had immense love for his deceased father Wazir Muhammad, and always used to remember him.

He joined Pakistan Navy in 1991 after doing his matric and served with zeal and full devotion.

He happily got married to one of his relatives in Mardan.
During his sea service, he visited different countries and learnt positively from these journeys. He was a religious person and also had the opportunity to visit Makkah for pilgrimage. He had repeatedly told his friends about his desire for martyrdom. He was the chosen one who and was ultimately blessed with this noble death on 10 August, 1999.
